The Blog Project
At first I didn't think that this was all that practical of an idea. I really suck when it comes to computers, and when I saw the Koren kids Blogs I was very intimidated, but I did get to comment on Mikey from Austrailia and even people from Anderson. Now that I have the Hang of things I think that this is all really cool, and I see how it can connect people from different cultures!!

America's Diversity

I think that America is very diverse, it was built on immigrants. The immigrants that first came to America were mainly Europeans, but there are also Native Americans, African Americans, immigrants from South America and Mexico, Austrailia, and Asia. Just in Anderson High School I know people that are from France and Kenya, and Brazil. I think that in America we are fairly understanding of different cultural backgrounds. There are different Holidays so that people of different Religions have the chance to observe them. Also we double tripple, and sometimes quadruple print things in different languages. We also have anti-descrimination laws so that no one can be refused a job for their ethnic background. Overall I think that America is very diverse.

Favorite places in America

Every summer my mom and I try to take a road trip. We have been to Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Tennese, Georgia, Mississippi,Washington DC, Florida, Alabama, and this summer we are going to go to Missouri, Kentucky, and Illinois. I ahve been to alot of attraction and seen alot of countryside, but I do have my favorites. I really loved seeing car henge. It is like stone henge, but they are cars spray painted grey. Mount Rushmore was really cool, because the weather was nice and it seemed like we were posing for postcards. In New Mexico and Tennese we went white water river rafting, and that was alot of fun. Also in Tennese I went to Graceland, Elvis' house, we rode horses, we saw the grand ol' oprey, and went to the wild horse saloon. I am really looking forward to going to Chicago this summer!!
P.S. we usually take our dog

Terrorist Attacks

In 2001 the World Trade Center in New York was attacked by Al Qaeda. Very many people had their futures taken from them that day, and many people lost loved ones.It is a day that will forever stand out in my mind. I was 7 years old when it happened, and I just remember that everywhere you went there was the footage. The planes crashe into those towers for days. That was all that was on the nes. And the news was pretty much the only thing that ever played on televisions. The pentagon was also attacked. Since then we have tightened security. It was a wake up call, and I hope that no one anywhere ever has to go through something like that ever again.

Anderson High School.

I went to the same school from the time that I was 3 to the time that I was 14. The graduating 8th grade class had 43 people in it. WE were all really close, we were a family. I miss them all the time. Anderson is so different. There are like 700 people in the Freshman class, and the actual High School has three floors. My old school was one hallway. I have met some really cool people here at Anderson though, andthere are a ton of things to be involved in. I like my schedule and most of my classes. I would love to drop Teen Leadership, but then again so does everybody else. I went to some of the football games, I love watching High School football, and they were pretty fun. my cousin Kelsey is on the drill team, and I some friends in the band. Anderson is pretty cool. GO TROJANS!!

Summer 2008

I had a very eventful Summer this year. i did the whole Freshman orientation, and I was also a camp counsulor. i was in charge of 16 girls ages 9-13. I ended up getting like 17 hours of sleep for the entire week. It was nuts! I also went to Western Europe. It was absoulutly AMAZING!! I loved it! We wnet to England, Scotland, Ireland, and France. We were there for a total of 3 weeks. I especially loved Edinburgh.
Illeagal immigrants

This is a really big topic in the U.S. The government really wants to stop illegal immigration and tighten border security. I think that immigrants are what keeps a country going, they bring new cultural aspects, and new points of veiw. I just wish that there was a way to make everyone happy. Most of the illeagal immigrants are from Mexico, and crossing the border in some area is EXTREMELY dangerous. They come beacause of the job oppertunities in the US, and the fact that they can make a better life for themselves here because the US has better health care and education. I wish that they would just do things legally, then ther wouldn't be any problems. Right now there is alot of fear and decption, and that is no way to live. I dont know if I could go about my normal life everyday with the fear that I might be detained, deported, or die.
